Ruth Rains Middle School, Dixie County's only middle school, serves grades 6-8. With a student population of around 432, a faculty of 28 and a support staff of 16, we are all working hard to accomplish the vision of our school.
Our Vision
Ruth Rains Middle School is dedicated to the education of the total child in a caring, fun, hands-on, safe and academically challenging environment. We recognize each child as an individual with varying abilities, backgrounds and values.
Our Goal
Our goal is to instill in our students the skills that will enable them to become productive, tolerant citizens in a global society. An important key to this success lies in the commitment among school personnel, students, parents and community who recognize that learning is a life-long process.
Our Committment
The staff at Ruth Rains Middle is committed to preparing the students for FCAT. There are remediation classes and also accelerated classes. This helps the school receive a "A" for the school grade.’
