About RRMS

Ruth Rains Middle School operates on a nine weeks grading period with a seven period class day, and tries to further enhance the middle school years by providing students with extra opportunities for fun and growth.

Clubs:  Several clubs are available at RRMS for students. These include: Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Chritsian Athletes, Drama, Principal's List, Students Working Against Tobacco, and Jr. Beta Club.
Educational Programs: RRMS uses the researched-based reading programs READ 180 and Pearson Success Maker in order to help meet the various reading and math needs of our students.   Students are also encouraged to earn points and prizes throughout the year in the Accelerated Reader program.  The top two students in each grade level receive special recognition. There is also a school-wide field trip for all students who earn at least 120 points during the school year.

Rewards:  Students are rewarded if they have completed all their assignments, and have no discipline referrals with two or less absences per nine weeks.  Students who meet this criteria are taken out to lunch.

A History/Science Fair is conducted each year through the history/science departments.  These departments alternate each year with an average participation of approximately 300 projects entered.

Sports:  Intramural activities are offered through our physical education classes, including archery, artillery ball, volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer and track & field.  RRMS also participates in extracurricular sports including girls volleyball, basketball, and softball and boys football, basketball, and baseball.
